Helen steps up for kids hospice

Helen Penistan hopes to raise £3,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield by trekking in October for eight hours a day for five days along the iconic structure.

The turbine company where she works as an accounts assistant supports the hospice and she did a charity skydive raising £1,500, but was overwhelmed when she visited the charity and decided to sign up for the expedition as part of a group. She said: “I am a runner and quite fit, but have started going on a few training walks.”

She added: “It will be a big adventure as I’m an only child and have had a sheltered life. Bluebell Wood is a truly amazing place that does so much for children and their families.”

The Agra restaurant in Sleaford is sponsoring her and the Green Elachi in Ruskington will donate 50 per cent of the profit from a birthday event she is holding there in July. To donate go to: www.justgiving.com/Helen-Penistan2016
