Help Bailey achieve his Florida dream

Bailey, nine, will embark on the trip of a lifetime to Florida this October, with the Make A Wish Foundation.

But his family needs to raise cash to help him truly enjoy his holiday, and fulfil his dream of swimming with dolphins.

A charity fundraiser is being held at Manton Club on Saturday 6th April from 8pm and everyone is invited.

A top night of entertainment is promised, with musical performances from the Stars In Our Eyes charity tribute roadshow.

And a raffle will offer the chance to win great prizes including vouchers for hair and nail treatments, meals for two, wine and chocolates.

Bailey, who goes to Ryton Park Primary School in Worksop, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in May 2010 and has been in and out of hospital ever since.

He is still undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and the effects can put him out of action for days.

“We’ll never be the same family again,” said Bailey’s mum Lisa, of Retford Road, Worksop.

“It has been devastating but at the same time it has pulled us all closer together.”

Bailey will turn ten in June, and the following month his treatment will finish.

Then it’s all about gearing up for his big holiday to Florida.

“The foundation has granted Bailey’s wish to go to Florida and swim with dolphins but he’ll need some money to enjoy himself while he’s there and bring back things to remember the holiday by,” said Lisa. “We hope everyone will come and support us on Saturday night and donate whatever they can to this good cause.”
