Spencer Presho was praised in the Guardian last month after the quick-thinking nine-year-old used his shirt as a bandage before calling for help when his close friend, Kasey, fell over and cut her leg open.
The article caught the attention of FC Barcelona’s relations team, who contacted the Guardian offering not only to replace Spencer’s football shirt, but also the chance for him to meet and have a kick-about with his favourite players.
The football fan will also receive VIP tickets to the team’s upcoming game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, November 1.
Olivier Gonzales, FC Barcelona spokesman, said: “We were most impressed to read about Spencer’s bravery and his quick reaction to assist his young friend Kasey when in need.
“Respect, effort, ambition, teamwork and humility define FC Barcelona’s values which Spencer represents.
“We would be delighted to present him with a new shirt.”
Spencer’s dad, David Presho, who is accompanying the youngster on the dream trip, said: “Spencer is beyond excited.
“He won’t stop talking about meeting the team – none of us can quite believe it.”
