Holbeach and Spalding through to Dance Factor final

Street dance crews from Holbeach and Spalding will represent South Holland in the finals of Dance Factor Lincolnshire next month.

D-Feet from Holbeach and The Elite from Spalding were among four groups to qualify for the grand final of the countywide dance competition after semi-final success at South Holland Centre, Spalding, on Friday.

In total, eight groups from South Holland and Boston competed in the regional semi-final in front of more than 250 hyped up spectators and a judging panel, including South Holland Centre manager Sally Harrison and South Holland District Council arts officer Rachel Rowett.

Two more groups from South Holland entered the semi-final after ten weeks of free dance sessions, The Goz Funk of Gosberton and Explosion from Long Sutton.

D-Feet and The Elite will be joined by Electricity Blue and Xcella, both from Boston, for the grand final in Lincoln on Sunday May 10.

Meanwhile, Deepings street dance group Into the Deep were one of four groups to compete in the South Kesteven semi-final in Grantham last night.

Although two groups from Grantham, Newton’s Law and Unique Freaks, eventually qualified for the final, Into the Deep were praised on social media in a message which said: “Couldn’t be more prouder of Into the Deep. “You have it everything girls and performed amazing (ly).

“No one would have guessed we only had three weeks together.

“I am so, so proud, you are such a lovely group and fingers crossed we can keep our group together.”

Into the Deep, The Goz Funk, Explosion and Illumina8 from Stamford, along with all the groups that took part in Dance Factor Lincolnshire, have been invited to join all the semi-final winners for the grand final.

The winners will go on to perform on the same bill as former Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity at the Magna Carta 800 event at Lincoln Castle on June 13.
