Horncastle man sentenced after Admiral Rodney Hotel damage

A 29-year-old Horncastle man has been sentenced after damaging internal furnishings and fixtures at the Admiral Rodney Hotel, and assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty.

Thomas Anthony Lyons, of Bull Ring, appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court on February 22.

Lyons pleaded guilty to damaging internal furnishings and fixtures, of value unknown, without lawful excuse at the Admiral Rodney Hotel in Horncastle on January 28. He also pleaded guilty to assaulting a male police constable in the execution of his duty in Horncastle on the same day.

Lyons was ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation to the hotel for the criminal damage offence, and £300 in compensation to the police officer.

He was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid community work in the next 12 months, and had to pay £85 in court costs and a further £85 victim surcharge.
