Horse equipment stolen in Louth and Horncastle areas

Two stables have been targeted by thieves overnight (February 22-23), and various items of horse equipment were stolen.

Incident 47 of February 23 related to stables in the Goulceby area of Louth whereby rugs, grooming kits and medical items were removed from the premises.

Meanwhile, incident 91 of February 23 relates to stables in the Gautby area of Horncastle whereby a large quantity of horse related equipment was removed.

If you have any information about these incidents, call Lincolnshire Police on 101 and quote the relevant incident number.

Police have issued the following advice:

• Ensure that your tack is not left in a location that is unlocked and easily accessed.

• Do not leave wheel barrows available to transport equipment off site

• Ensure your saddles and rugs are security marked - you can contact the Community Safety Department at Police Headquarters to arrange a site visit to assess your tack security requirements.
