Hundreds of bikers still show at Louth Bike Night despite the rain

Louth's popular annual Bike Night saw a rain on its parade after heavy downpours caused a lower turnout compared to its normal thousands.

But the event, organised by the Louth Lions still went ahead despite the weather and people who attended had fun regardless.

Over 600 bikes still turned out to fill the Market Place, with spectactors putting up their brolleys and chucking on their rain coats, to enjoy the night.

Liz Shaw from the Louth Lions, organiser of the event said: “We were really disappointed that saw heavy downpours, as we usually have such fantastic weather.

“But we can’t stop the rain sadly.

“Overall we still had 600 bikes turn up on the night and we thank them for still turning out and giving us an event.

“We had Klout perform on the main stage for on the night and get started up early to get the atmosphere going to deter the rain, so we must say a big thank you to them.

“Then we also want to thank everyone that help us make the event possible, to all of the local businesses that turned up with stalls on the night and finally to everyone who turned out, even in the rain to enjoy the event.

“We still all managed to have a good night.”

All funds raised from this event, goes back into the community and is given to a number of local charities and worthy causes.
