It was an excellent opportunity for the club members to obtain county and regional championship qualifying times.

As this was an open meet, swimmers could compete in the races at an A grade level, whilst the younger members could compete at the B and C grade level.

For a young swimmer going to their first competition, it gives them the confidence to have a go whilst being supported by the more experienced and sometimes older swimmers.

Under the watchful eye of Jessica Wheaton, Isaac Banham, Alex and Lucy Parker, Jack and Eryn Hurdman, Amy Holt, Ella Hopkins, Isabelle Clark, Cody Elms and Sienna England-White, they were able to support and encourage the younger members.

The meet saw Rupert Clark (10), Colby Monaghan (10), Thomas Colebourne (10), Tegan Philips (10) post some very impressive times and bag a couple of medals, with Rupert taking more than 20 seconds off of his 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle times and more than 12 seconds off of his 50m backstroke time.

Between the whole team, they collected 22 medals and 18 pin badges for fourth to sixth place.

There were also plenty of county qualifying times achieved by the more experienced swimmers.

Eryn Hurdman and Amy Holt collected their first ever CQTs in 50m backstroke, Eryn also bagging a CQT in the 50 butterfly.

Team Skegness finished 12th out of 22 clubs from North Lincolnshire and West Yorkshire, with Jessica Wheaton (11) being named Top Girl and Alex Parker (16) being place third in the Top Boy category.
