‘Inclusive’ cafe scoops age-friendly award

The Grand Parade eatery, which is gaining a good reputation for its authentic stone-baked pizza, is now officially a T.E.D Age-friendly business, recognised for its customer service, comfort, clear marketing and communications and accessibility.

The awards have been established in East Lindsey by T.E.D. (Talk, Eat, Drink), which is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund under its Aging Better programme.

Since its opening in the summer of this year, Café Magna – which serves the Costa Proud to Serve brand – has joined forces with groups and organisations to promote a family-friendly and inclusive offer.

Café manager Mark Alexander is delighted to have received this latest recognition. He said: “It is important especially in a town like Skegness that we make the venue welcoming for a whole range of customers.“

“This Age-friendly award is a perfect example of how we continually look at what we do, what we serve and how we make Café Magna a quality offer

for all ages.”

As part of its work with older people in the Skegness area, Café Magna is currently hosting weekly CHAPS’ sessions.

Organised by the community arm of the Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure & Culture, the T.E.D-funded sessions are free and aimed at older men within the

community – helping them to meet new people.
