Their July Wedding Walk took place on the streets of Scunthorpe, and raised over £1,100 for research and private medical care to help families who face a life-changing cancer diagnosis.

Team Verrico partnered with DeathRow roller derby girls to attract maximum publicity. Charity chair Paul Verrico, along with have-a-go friends Ed Green and Andy Marden, were token male brides. Event organiser Fleur Binnington, Team Verrico’s Head of Counselling, said: “I was absolutely blown away by the generosity of people. The Wedding Walk was my late husband’s idea. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer seven months after we married.”
