Isle groups benefit from thousands of pounds of funding

Mr Percy, and his staff, have been able to help secure almost £225,000 specifically for community projects.

This is separate to the tens of millions that he has secured from central Government and neighbouring councils for investment and infrastructure projects.

These community projects across the constituency have helped schools, play parks, community centres and more.

Local examples include the outside gym on Crowle Playing Fields, disabled access and toilets at the Keaby and Althorpe Working Men’s Club, visitor facilities for the Crowle Peatland Railway on the Crowle and Thorne Moors, play equipment at both Eastoft and Luddington Primary Schools and equipment for Crowle Boxing Club – to name a few.

Mr Percy said this week: “When I was elected I promised to be more accessible than your average MP which is why I opened two, publically accessible offices.

“We have a huge number of committed individuals locally who want to make their area even better for residents and one of the biggest casework themes we had was about securing funding for local projects.

“I know that funding bids can be quite daunting and also time-consuming, which is why I made my office and staff available, particularly Julie Reed, to help anyone wanting to locate or bid for funding.”

He continued: “The amount we have been able to help raise has been truly staggering, delivering a wide range of projects on the ground.

“The groups do a lot of the work themselves but Julie has been able to offer bespoke support and advice for these bids.

“I would like to thank everyone who has been in touch regarding funding and to pay tribute to those hardworking individuals who make this area what it is.”
