Collective switching offers households the opportunity to sign-up to a scheme that allows the council to enter an auction with energy companies on their behalf, to secure a discounted energy price.

The scheme is run in partnership with iChoosr Ltd, the UK’s leading provider of collective switching.

Councillor John Briggs, cabinet member for Asset Management, Culture and Housing, said: “The collective switching scheme does all the hard work for people and could save you hundreds of pounds each year. Who wouldn’t want to make savings on their monthly bills? Many people are paying over the odds for their energy and we want to ensure that people have the best deal.

People can be hesitant when it comes to switching suppliers because they are not sure how to or don’t have time to compare the different tariffs. With collective switching, we do all the work for you; making it safe and easy to switch. The more people that register, the cheaper the bills will be.
