The Scheme is suitable for domestic heating for households, community buildings and businesses that use oil to heat their homes and premises, including churches and village halls.

It aims to save members money by bringing residents and communities together to make the most of their collective buying power, to reduce the price of oil and pass the savings onto the members directly.

To become a member of the North Lincs Community Bulk Buying Oil Scheme all you need to do is complete a membership form and pay a small annual membership fee. This covers the costs of as many orders as you wish throughout the year.

Individual households will pay as little as £20 for the year and £30 for community buildings. The council will provide the first 100 households that join up to the scheme free membership.

Becoming a community co-ordinator will give you free membership in return for co-ordinating the monthly orders for your community.

Councillor John Briggs (pictured), cabinet member for asset management, culture and housing said: “This is a fantastic scheme, as it can be very costly paying for oil to heat your house or business. By coming together to buy oil in bulk it will save people money each year – and all the hard work is done for you. All you need to do is register as a member with the North Lincs Community Bulk Buying Scheme and order your oil, then let us do the rest.

“We have seen some fantastic savings being made with our other fuel saving schemes, which is why we wanted to provide this great opportunity for more people.”

New members are eligible to place an order in the same month they join the scheme. As long as they submit their application form and pay their membership fee two weeks before the ordering deadline. The minimum that can be ordered is 500 litres. You will be charged the same price per litre for any quantity ordered.

Orders can be placed with your local co-ordinator if you have one or directly with HWRCC on 01430 430904 or email [email protected].

Once your order is received, you can sit back and relax as we negotiate the best price from a range of suppliers. You will then be notified of the pence per litre price by either your local co-ordinator or HWRCC.
