Lex Fest, in memory of the late Alexander Strong, attracted scores of people and teams from across North Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire competed in a crazy ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition.

The event was held to fund the making of specialised trikes for Belton youngster Kira Yates, and William Moreland of Doncaster, both of whom have limited mobility.

A total £3000 plus resulted from the day, and the two deserving youngsters will have their customised trikes that cost £2,100 to buy.

Pride of the Isle Chair Leesa Sharpe said: “It was a fantastic day. The It’s a Knockout competition was great fun and won by Miss Shapes (Amie Stuchbery and team), who have already announced their intention to return next year to defend their title.

“We had a busy fairground, bouncy castles, pony rides and reptiles for children to hold. The committee did us proud and worked so hard to pull it all together.”

Attendees were quick to voice appreciation via social media. Comments on Pride of the Isle’s facebook page included: Claire Durkin, ‘It was a great day and night. You and the rest of the committee did a fantastic job. It’s a knockout was fab can’t wait for next year!!!’ Healing Hands-mel Kirk, ‘Was a brilliant day, can’t wait for the next one.’
