Isle’s football team chairman elected to town council

The chairman of Epworth Colts’ football team, Mark Degnan, was elected yesterday (February 20).

The only other candidate was Epworth shop owner Michail Harm, who thanked everyone who voted for him on social media website Facebook.

Mr Degnan, who is married with two children and two dogs and lives in Epworth, said: “I’m extremely proud to be elected , I hope that I can make a difference. I’d like to thank all who voted and I’ll try my best to serve the community as they deserve

“I’m very eager to get involved straight away and just very excited to take up this new and challenging role.”
