Isle’s horse owners reassured by police

Fears that a lorry load of horses stopped on the A18 by police may have included stolen animals, have been quashed.

Police launched an investigation after stopping the vehicle carrying 17 horses on May 15.

A 33-year old man was arrested but later released without charge after it was found that no criminal offences have occurred.

All 17 horses on the lorry have been identified and none had been reported as missing or stolen. They were being transported by a professional company.
