Isle’s Sheridan voices concern about ‘getting her kit off’

The award-winning star revealed on social media site Twitter her nerves at shedding her clothes for a scene shot.

She joked: “Oof so full, just had a massive dinner on set. Pure carbs?? Gotta get my kit off on Friday in a scene, hope it’s dimly lit??”

The Epworth actress plays police woman and mum-of-two Jo Gillespie in Black Work, expected to be shown on ITV in March.

Her character suffers turmoil after her policeman husband, who works under cover, is shot dead in the suspense drama mystery that has been filmed at locations including Leeds, Huddersfield and Goole.

Sheridan boosted her fitness for the role by signing up for a series of rigorous training camps based in Epworth.

Her part requires a good level of physical fitness and she was keen to be in peak condition.

Sheridan spoke of her excitement when preparing for the series, that she warned has plenty of unexpected twists.

It follows her huge success in the televised drama Cilla, which won rave reviews and has most recently been shown to an appreciative Australian audience.

Mrs Biggs, another drama in which Sheridan won much acclaim as lead character, has also enjoyed a recent second showing on British television.

Black Work is written by Matt Charman and produced by Mammoth Screen, with backing from Screen Yorkshire through the Yorkshire Content Fund.

As Jo, Sheridan works alongside Honor Kneafsey, who plays her seven-year old daughter Melly, and Oliver Woolford, who is her stepson Hal in the series.

She is determined to find out who was responsible for the death of her husband and has a number of painful truths to encounter along the way.

Writer Matt Charman described the Isle actress as ‘a dream to write for’ due to her versatility. He said the story pushes her to the limit.

The 33-year-old Sheridan voiced her determination not to drink too much as she neared her final scene for the series, telling her twitter fans: “I can’t have too many....my last scene tomorrow is on a merry go round.”
