The competition, created by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), is looking for young people of 14 years and over to submit a blog-style piece of writing on a topic that is important to them.

The winning blog will be the first piece of writing featured on the soon-to-be launched ‘Lincolnshire Healthy Teens’ website later this year, and will also receive a £50 Odeon cinema voucher.

Kelly Waldie, Social Marketing Project Officer for LCHS, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to get involved with an exciting project. We want the new website to have lots of input from young people, and having the blog section will mean that young people will have a voice.

“The non-fiction piece of writing can focus on an experience, interest or feeling that they have on any subject. We understand that young people can have many challenges growing up, as well as lots of inspirational stories and we see the blog as a mouthpiece for young people to share these.”

The winner will start the ‘it’s all about the blog’ section on the website which hopes to include writing from both young people and health professionals.

School nurses will be promoting the competition through schools, and all submissions must be emailed to [email protected] by Friday November 6 for judging.
