A series of short stories with titles based on the world-famous super spy’s adventures is to be published in a bid to attract new people to the county.

The first in the series, The Wolds Is Not Enough, will be published next month with follow-ups From Ruskington With Love and A View To East Keal coming in consecutive months.

The Man With The Golden Gunby and Never Say Navenby Again are slated for pre-Christmas releases with more following in 2017.

The initiative is the work of Lincolnshire’s newly formed Special Executive for County-wide Tourism, Recreation, and Entertainment.

Chair April O’Flos said: “James Bond has been around the world, but to our knowledge has never been to Lincolnshire.

“We believe the county’s heritage and varied landscape would lend itself the perfect backdrop to his adventures - and hopefully attract new people to the area.”

Other titles planned in the series include: Live and Let Dyke, Ingold(finger)mells, Thunderbourne, The Lutton Daylights, and The Quadring of Solace.

Another of Ian Fleming’s Bond titles, 007 in New York, is to be re-imagined as 007 in New York, near Boston.

The final title planned in the series, The Woodhall Spa Who Loved Me, will see Bond substitute his signature drink of vodka Martina for vodka Martin in a nod to the nearby village of Martin.

Miss O’Flos added that discussions have been held about adapting the books for short films, with talented local actor Sean Coningsby already lined up to take on the lead role.
