Jobs lost as Isle mushroom farm closes

An Isle company has gone in to liquidation with the loss of seven jobs, the Bells can report.

Ealand-based Bonnyhale Mushrooms has supplied mushrooms for supermarket sales for 35 years.

A spokesman for CJM Asset Management at Scunthorpe confirmed that the three company directors had decided to fold the business.

Is is understood the decision was made following the loss of a major supermarket contract.

An online auction of assets that are expected to realise £15,000 to £20,000 after bidding closes at noon on August 6 is ongoing, with viewing from 9.30am to 4.30pm on August 5. Sale items include 10 mushroom sheds and water tanks, along with machinery that includes a tractor and two forklift trucks. Call 07876 682341 for details.
