A special service in St Denys’ Church will be held at 10am with refreshments available to purchase, including cupcakes with poppy icing, tea, coffee and biscuits. All proceeds will go to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The Royal British Legion will parade their Standards at the event, along with those of the Scouts and Guides Groups.

While Her Majesty’s actual birthday was on April 21, the nation is holding street parties across the country on June 12 to mirror the event taking place in London on the Mall.

The exhibition of birthday messages to Her Majesty at St Denys’ also comes to an end this Sunday, which features birthday wishes from about 90 individuals and organisations.
