Jubilee fun in the sun

WORKSOP has caught Jubilee fever with a host of celebrations taking place around the town to mark the Queen’s 60th year on the throne.

On Sunday, Aurora hope to create one of the biggest public events ever as they host a Jubilee party and family fun day at its health and well being centre on Memorial Avenue.

With everyone welcome there promises to be so much fun for children of all ages in the old library and Canch area. Food, drink and live music, as well as street stalls, why stay indoors?

Sherwood Forest will also be holding a number of activities over the Jubilee weekend at the country park near Edwinstowe.

Visitors will get an insight into Royal Sherwood, when it was once a Royal Hunting Forest. This living history event gives visitors the chance to experience the sights, smells, sounds and atmosphere of the forest - just as it might have been back in the days of a certain Robin Hood!

Retford will be hosting a community picnic in the market square for everyone to attend on Sunday at 11am.
