Karate kids strike gold for GB team
Members took part in the Traditional Karate World Championships and World Children’s Cup in St John’s, Newfoundland.

Hide AdThe squad returned with three golds, four silvers and four bronze medals.
“Appropriate methodology and persistence in training routine brought about a most desired effect,” said chairman and head instructor, sensei Zbigniew Godzisz.
“St John’s welcomed us with beautiful weather, wonderful people and tonnes of history.”

Hide AdMore than 400 competitors from 20 countries all across the globe gathered for action.
The club’s junior medalists were: Kamile Rogelevic (14) - first place individual kata, Timofej Kabak (12) - first place individual kata, Timofej Kabak and Ernest Skarzinskij - first place en-bu, Kamile Zubovaite (11) - second place individual kata, Alina Rubina and Ernest Skarzinskij - second place en-bu mix, Ernest Skarzinskij (12) - second place individual kata, Alina Rubina, Eden Parker, Kamile Zubovaite - second place team kata girls, Eden Parker (12) - third place individual kata, Kirils Snikeris (11) - third place individual kata, Alina Rubina (11) - third place individual kata, Kamile Zubovaite and Timofej Kabak - third place en-bu mix.
Youngster Adriana Peiseniece, who was a European Cup medalist last year, also represented the club, claiming seventh place in individual kata despite suffering from health problems.

Hide AdFor the seniors, Paweł Kutermankiewicz joined forces with Jakub Parchanowicz (Burton) and Filip Debowski (London) for fourth in the team kata.
Pawel and clubmate Kristine Rubina both qualified for the quarter-finals in the fuku-go category.
As well as the Boston club’s success, there were further medals for fellow members of the Great Britain team, who also turned on the style across the Atlantic.
