Karen’s energetic approach wins nursery award

Karen Turner is an area manager for Treetops, which has a nursery at Celtic Point in Worksop.

And she is now the proud owner of a Nursery Management Today nursery award.

Karen was handed the gong for Best Nursery Operations / Regional Manager 2012 after being shortlisted from hundreds of nominees.

“I am delighted to have been recognised for my passion and dedication to childcare and see it as a great honor to receive the award,” said Karen, who has been in the role since 2009.

“Treetops work as a team and we strive for the best childcare and with such a wonderful support system available to every member of staff from trainee to manager.”

“Ten out of ten childcare is achieved for our children and families and I feel extremely privileged to be able to work for Treetops.”

A NMT spokesman said: “We have chosen her because she brought energy, enthusiasm and intelligence to the role and ensured focus and consistent delivery across all her nurseries.”

“She blended numeral awareness with natural warmth for children, parents and staff.”

Becky Warnes, senior nursery nurse at Treetops in Worksop said the team was ‘very proud’ of Karen.

Award winners took to the stage in front of 600 guests at a gala at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel in London. Comedian and author Dominic Holland handed out the trophies.
