Kids are having a blast!

Children let off steam with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities from javelin to bocce ball.

It was all part of London 2012 World Sport Day which involved thousands of schools across the UK and the rest of the world.

“The aim was to give the kids a feel for what it’s like to take part in Olympic type activities,” said class teacher and PE teacher James Burns.

It also marked the start of National Sport Week - a five day celebration of PE, sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“We did a whole day of practical activities followed by practical activities the rest of the week,” said James.

“There was an opening and closing ceremony. And everyone got a certificate at the end. It was a great success, teaching them about the Olympic values and getting them in the mood for the Games this summer.”
