Kids design council tax brochure

Pupils from Langold Dyscarr Community School have been getting creative to design the front cover of a council leaflet.

The youngsters were asked to provide art work that depicted the work and services done by Bassetlaw Council to be used on the front cover of the Council Tax 2012/13 brochure, which will go to every house in Bassetlaw.

The council produce the brochure every year, but this is the first time a school has been asked to get involved.

In agreement with headteacher Angela Huthart the whole school took part in the competition, with the difficult job of selecting the best pictures fell to the newly elected school council.

The pictures have been transformed into a colourful collage on the front cover of the brochure.

Coun Sylvia May said: “The standard of work provided by the school has been absolutely fantastic.”

“The detail and colour used in the pictures have created just what we were looking for.”

The work will be displayed in the Queen’s Buildings reception.
