Langold: Road closed after bus ploughs into garden
The bus was carrying passengers at the time of the accident, which happened in Mellish Road at around 4.30pm.
After the collision, the bus crashed into a garden. Mellish Road is now closed.
The accident happened near the junction with William Street, according to eyewitnesses.
The fire service cut a woman free from the Rover car and four other people from the car were treated for minor injuries.
Eight people on board the bus were also given first aid.
People living nearby said they saw emergency vehicles screaming through the village to the crash scene.
An eyewitness reported seeing two fire engines, three police cars, four ambulances, five paramedic cars and several other emergency support vehicles.
The air ambulance was also ferrying injured people from the scene.
A Mellish Road resident told the Guardian: “It’s all taped off now, the forensic officers are still at the scene.”
“The bus has crushed the whole front of the car and the people inside had to be cut out.”
“The air ambulance has been going back and forth.”
