Over 80 pubs are taking part in the event with two contestants from each pub progressing to the knockout stages.

Each heat will consist of six acts depending on how many acts sign up.

The first heats are being held from 12th June to 11th July.

From each heat two acts will move forward to the Royal Legion final. The two acts with the highest score will then compete in the regional heats. There is no age limit on entering.

From all the entrants two will be picked to enter the knock-out stages between July 14th and 27th.

Acts will then progress to the quarter-finals should they be successful on the 31st August and then onto the semi finals between the 15th and 18th September.

The grand final will be on the 4th October with the winner receiving £5000.

Venues for heats from the knock out stage will be announced at a later date.

It is free to enter and all money raised from now until the final will go to Help the Heroes.

Raffle tickets for a draw will be held on the finals night. Help for Heroes wrist bands will also be on sale.
