Last chance to enter business awards

The Boston Business Awards will be held on February 17 next year in a bid to help beat away those January blues - but we need your nominations now!

There are plenty of categories to enter in the awards - which sees the Boston Standard and its dedicated event team take the lead again this year.

Editor Stephen Stray said: “We are looking forward to building on the success of last year’s awards when we took on the sole responsibility for the event.

“But if that is going to happen we really need your help - we need you to share your stories.

“This is a perfect opportunity to showcase some of the great successes there are in Boston and the surrounding areas.

“So, don’t be shy - make sure you nominate yourself or someone who you think really deserves recognition. It really couldn’t be much easier ‑ just follow the instructions online.”

The black tie awards presentation evening will again be hosted by BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Melvyn Prior and be held in a special marquee at Haven High from 7pm.

Tickets are now on sale at £50 + vat per ticket and a corporate table of 10 is just £450 + vat.

Closing date for entries is Friday, November 18, 2016. Entries are welcome from businesses in Boston and within The Standard’s circulation area.

The categories are as follows:

Best New Business - Sponsored By Duncan & Toplis

Has your business been a roaring success in its infancy? Has it exceeded all your expectations or is it exactly on the right track, looking strong and with excellent prospects for the future? Open to companies in business for up to three years from the date of the launch of these awards.

Customer Care - Available To Sponsor

The award will recognise the firm that can prove it really does put the customer first. Has your business excelled to help one customer in particular or perhaps you have introduced new ways of working to help every customer who comes through the door.

Employee/Team Of The Year - Available To Sponsor

This award is to celebrate dedication and commitment to the business. The title will go to the employee or team who always go the extra mile and exceed expectations within their company.

Business Of The Year - Available To Sponsor

This will go to a business trading for more than three years that is able to demonstrate excellence and innovation in its field, management with the ability to drive the business forward, funding arrangements and investment plans for the business. It must show it understands its market, has arrangements to respond to change and can demonstrate and quantify why the business should win the award.

Independent Retailer - Sponsored by PAB Translation

This award celebrates the shops which make the Boston area special and will be judged on financial performance, product and store innovation as well as proven customer service.

Great Taste - Sponsored by Johnsons Garden Centre

This award is for a local hotel, restaurant, cafe or pub that can demonstrate creativity, good customer service and great food/dining in the Boston Standard readership area.

Business Person Of The Year - Available To Sponsor

This award is awarded to a local business person who has shown commitment and dedication to their business.

Young Entrepreneur/Business Person Of The Year - Available To Sponsor

This award is to highlight and recognise young businessmen or women in the Boston area (18 – 40 years) who have demonstrated creativity and vision in their business, who have created wealth and employment with a sustainable and profitable enterprise.
