Laughton-en-le-Morthen: Concert to remember popular vicar

A special concert is taking place at All Saints’ Church, Laughton-en-le-Morthen on Saturday, 2nd November to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the appointment of the Rev Jenkin Lloyd Jones as the parish vicar.

One of the longest serving vicars of the parish in modern times, Rev Jones was appointed in 1953 and retired 31 years later.

He is still very fondly remembered today 28 years after his death in 1985, by those knew and worked with him.

The concert, which also marks All Saints’ Church Patronal Festival, will be given by the Choir of St Mary’s Church, Nottingham, of which the Rev Jones’ grandson, Ioan Reed-Aspley is a member.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £10 (£3 under-16s), available on the door. Money raised will go towards the restoration and upkeep of the church,
