Launch of weekly newspaper for south Lincolnshire's Polish residents

A weekly newspaper for residents who have come from Poland has gone into print.

The Boston Express – which recently expanded to cover news and information from South Holland – has been available since its inception a few months ago only as an electronic document on the internet via social media sites.

Now the first edition has appeared in print and is available for free every Friday from drop-off points in Boston.

Editor Piotr Ozga has generated revenue to fund printing costs by attracting advertising and thanked Boston-based PAB Translation Centre for translating material submitted in English into Polish.

Piotr is sticking by his original guiding principle of encouraging those from Poland who have made the area their home to learn more about south Lincolnshire and about living in England.

The Boston Express is produced in Polish so that the people it is intended for can read it. But the news is all about what is happening here.

Piotr said: I think it is important that we know what is happening about where we are now – our home.”

The Boston Express is available to pick up for free from Polish shops in Boston and Spalding, Boston Police Station, Boston College, Boston Library and Boston Borough Council’s main reception at Municipal Buildings in West Street.
