Lea kids touch the stars

THE SKY was the limit as children at Francis Olive Anderson School enjoyed an afternoon of star gazing when a mobile planetarium visited the school.

StarLincs were in attendance to guide pupils through the wonders of the universe as part of their cross-curriculum Key Stage 2 studies of the solar system.

“It worked as a great stimulus and got the children asking some really interesting questions,” said year 5 teacher Marc Stanney.

“We usually have a trip at the end of the term, but we thought we’d bring comets and asteroids to them at the start of the year just to get the kids thinking.”

He added: “They really enjoyed it. It was a wonderful experience for them.”
