Lea Road closure details emerge

The A156 Gainsborough Road at Lea will be closed for up to two weeks for resurfacing work between Monday 24th October and Friday 4th November, between Cavendish Drive and Lea Green and there will be no access for any vehicles for the duration.

It is hoped the work will be completed during the half-term, while diversions will be in place along the A1500 Tillbridge Lane, A15 and A631.

As well as trouble for motorists, this creates difficulties for bus users as the 100, 105, and 107 services will not be able to operate via their registered route through Lea and onwards to Knaith Park.

The Shuttle service will operate via the service 100 route and timetable between Lansdale Avenue and Gainsborough Bus Station, and will connect with the service 100 at Gainsborough Bus Station to ensure that passengers will be able to travel to Gainsborough, Lincoln and Scunthorpe. Outward bound to Lincoln the service 100 will operate via Gainsborough Bus Station, Trinity Street, Thorndyke Way, Heapham Road, Long Lane, Padmore Lane to Knaith Park and then pick up the normal route, and vice versa in the opposite direction inward bound.

The service 107 will operate as the 100 diversion, then Station Road Knaith Park to Knaith and then the normal route.

The 105 will operate as the 100 diversion, then reverse at Station Road Knaith Park, and then operate its normal route.

The service 526 to Kirton Huntcliffe School will operate to Mayflower Close on Lea Road then reverse and continue on its normal route, any students wishing to catch the service 526 from Lea will need to board the service at Mayflower Close.
