Lincolnshire charity LIVES has website hacked

The life-saving charity has spent most of today (Wednesday) trying to fix the problem - with the site now back up and running.

They tweeted earlier to say: “Sadly someone has hacked our web site! I honestly can’t believe anyone would want to cause so much damage and cost to a charity.”

The emergency medical charity provides life-saving support in the time before paramedics arrive on the scene.

Steve Hyde, LIVES HQ manager, said: “We are really shocked. Why would anyone harm and hinder a charity? It is not just that we are a charity, no disrespect to other charities, but we are talking about saving human lives.”

Mr Hyde described the website as a ‘vital part of our charity’. He said it not only raised awareness of LIVES but also funds.

The website is also often the first port of call for would-be volunteers, he added.

Mr Hyde praised the expertise of Epix Media, who he says helped bring the website back online effectively free of charge.
