Lincolnshire man '˜totally overwhelmed' by flight offer after Flying Scotsman '˜photobomb'

The Lincolnshire man who missed out on seeing The Flying Scotsman yesterday (Thursday, February 25) because of a passing Virgin train says he is '˜totally overwhelmed' to have been offered a trip to America in return.

Ryan Allen became an internet session when he shared on Twitter a video of a Virgin Trains East Coast service obliterating his view of The Flying Scotsman.

The locomotive was on its inugural run after a decade long re-fit and Ryan is said to have driven more than an hour to secure his place by the railway for the moment.

The clip caught the attention of Virgin who apologised for the ‘photobomb’ and offered him a trip to Atlanta, Georgia.

Today, Ryan met with representatives of the business at Grantham Railway Station where he accepted the tickets.

In another clip shared on Twitter he thanked Virgin boss Richard Branson for the tickets, saying he was ‘totally overwhelmed’.
