Lincolnshire MPs pay tribute to Jo Cox after horrific gun and knife attack

Local Members of Parliament have paid tribute to Jo Cox MP, who was killed in a gun and knife attack in her West Yorkshire constituency yesterday (Thursday).

Louth and Horncastle MP Victoria Atkins said: “I am so terribly sorry to hear of the passing of Jo Cox MP.

“None of us can imagine the pain her family must be feeling now.

“Jo was liked and respected across the House and she will be missed.

“My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.”

Ms Atkins cancelled her engagements in Louth today (Friday).

Sir Edward Leigh MP, who represents the Gainsborough constituency which includes Market Rasen, tweeted: “I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Jo Cox.

“My thoughts are with her husband, two children, family and friends.”
