The Lincolnshire Wolds Riding for the Disabled group has spent the last two years fund raising to purchase a new carriage - and their efforts have all been worth it.

Enough money has been raised and the new carriage, made by ‘Fenix’ has now been delivered and is ready to be used.

The group, which is a registered charity and is based in Louth, was formed to provide therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people with disabilities.

The new carriage is lighter in weight and much more manoeuvrable than others currently in use.

Another benefit is the carriage has built in ramps for wheelchair users.

The group would like to thank everyone who helped us to raise the funds needed for the purchase. There have been sveral generous donations from events like bag packing, sponsored cycle rides, raffles, charity stalls and auctions,

The group has even benefitted from people giving them the money in lieu of sending Christmas cards.

Without the generosity of the public, the group says it couldn’t do any of the things they achieve.

If there is anyone who would like to join the group - with either riding or driving as a helper or a participant - or if you have a horse/pony that you think could be suitable to use once a week - contact the group.

Training is given and the companionship and fun is free.
