This year, Select Lincolnshire for Food have added an additional category which is Business of the year, giving local businesses and members who support the food industry in Lincolnshire, the opportunity to be recognised for their contribution to the Food and Drink industry.

Gillian Richardson, Business Development Manager for Select Lincolnshire for Food, said: “This year we had an overwhelming number of award entries, all from very deserving food and drink producers across Lincolnshire.

“This, in itself, is proof of the diverse and high quality food and farming industry in the county.

“Every year we look to recognise and reward the people behind Lincolnshire’s billion pound food and farming sector.

“The judging panel found it really difficult to shortlist the entries for each award category, because every application had its own strengths.”

One of the most competitive categories is the ‘People’s Choice Award’ which gives consumers, as well as local chefs, cooks and shoppers, the chance to vote for their favourite local food business which they feel is worthy of an extra special prize.

Gillian added: “The People’s Choice Award is about giving the vote to consumers.

“And it would not be possible without the support of Lincolnshire Co-operative which is sponsoring the award.
