Long-serving parish councillor's MBE honour
Bryan Robinson, of Bicker Road, Donington, is the longest serving councillor for the parish and has been involved with a number of local charities.
Mr Robinson said: “I was surprised. It was a bit of a shock.
“Everyone seems very sympathetic to it.”

Hide AdMr Robinson told The Standard he had joined the parish council because he wanted to stand up for the village.
He said what started as joining the council 40 years ago then picked up speed as he started helping other organisations, including the school governors and the play park develop.
Mr Robinson was a farmer in the village, who has now retired.
He also servced in the Royal Air Force, joining in 1944 and heading out to Burma in 1946.
He also spent time in Hong Kong and Shanghai as part of his service.
Mr Robinson told The Standard he intends to keep going as long as he can.
