Lost Chord concert is extraordinary success

AN evening of classical music has helped to raise thousands of pounds for a Maltby charity.

Lost Chord hosted the Music for a Summers Evening concert at All Saint’s Church in Laughton.

It featured some of the best classical musicians around including violinist Orpheus Papafilippou with accompanist Andrea Kmecova.

The evening, which was followed by champagne and canapes at Slade Hooton Hall, raised £2,800 for the charity which helps transform the lives of people living with dementia. There was an extra donation of £2,500 from Ann Hawks, last year’s president of the Sheffield Soroptamists who chose Lost Chord as her charity of the year.

Lost Chord chief executive Helena Muller said: “We had an extraordinarily successful evening with everyone raving about how fabulous the concert was.”

“The whole performance, at the magnificent ancient church of All Saint’s at Laughton-en-le-Morthen, was quite exhilarating and was followed by a champagne reception at Slade Hooton Hall, where the celebrations continued into the night.”

Among the guests were the mayor and mayoress of Rotherham.
