The Louth 13+ Project will be using the £1,100 grant to buy a new projector to show films and run group sessions about anti-bullying and life choices.

The Louth 13+ Youth and Community Centre was nominated for the donation by colleagues at the Yorkshire Building Society agency, based at MJR Financial Services in Mercer Row.

Michael Rice, proprietor at MJR Financial Services, said: “The Louth 13+ Project provides an invaluable service for the young people in our community and we wanted to show our support for them by nominating them for a donation.

“We’re delighted the Charitable Foundation has been able to donate funds to the group and enable them to buy this new equipment.”

Brenda Maltby, Louth 13+ Youth and Community Development Worker, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation for providing us with this £1,100 donation.

“It will help us continue our valuable work here meeting the needs of our community.”

The Louth 13+ Youth and Community Centre provides a venue for young people and senior members of the local community to socialise and attend various groups.

The project is run by a management committee and volunteers, many of whom have previously attended the youth centre.
