Louth lass Lauren crowned top apprentice in the county

Lauren Taylor, 22, was crowned with the prestigious award at the glittering ceremony at Lincolnshire Showground on February 4.

Lauren works at the Louth Pharmacy, which itself received a bronze award in the ‘Pharmacy of the Year’ category.

A Lincolnshire Co-op spokeswoman said: “Lauren was recognised for being an outstanding student working to a level way above 
what is expected.

“She worked hard throughout her apprenticeship, 
completing the work well ahead of the required time, achieving top marks in all her modules, and a 
distinction overall.

“She quickly became an important member of the dispensary team at Louth Pharmacy, and uses 
her knowledge effectively.

“She is always willing to help out her colleagues and has exceptionally good customer-service skills always putting the needs of her customers 
or patients first.”

Lauren said: “I didn’t know I was up for the award, it was a total surprise.

“I’m really happy, I worked really hard for my 
distinction so it’s great.

“The hardest bit was I did seven modules and then I was told I needed to do six more to get a distinction, but I wanted to push for it as I always 
like to do my best.

“I studied dance at college and then I just got a job on the counter in Louth Pharmacy and from there I did my dispensary apprenticeship. The next step is to do my Accuracy Checking Technician qualification.

“I love my job, I like making customers happy. It’s rewarding to know you’ve done something out of the ordinary for them and they rely on you.”

Lincolnshire Co-op Pharmacy Area Manager Marc Brooks said: “Lauren’s motivation and desire is unbelievable. She has been an outstanding apprentice and is now a permanent member of staff at Louth Pharmacy.

“Her ability is exceptional and her maturity is way beyond her years.”
