Thompson appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on May 3, where he pleaded guilty to the charge of driving with 200 microgrammes of controlled drug Benzoylecgonine in his blood, exceeding the specified limit.

The offence took place on the A46 Lincoln Bypass on May 13 last year.

In addition to the 22 month driving disqualification, Thompson was fined £160 and ordered to pay £250 in court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Thompson had previously pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on November 25.

On that day, he had pleaded guilty to having not appeared for a scheduled court hearing six days earlier.

However, the court did not impose a separate penalty for this offence.
