Lucky escape for driver near Markham Moor

A DRIVER had a lucky escape when his car collided with a lorry and rolled into a field - and he walked away unscathed.

The accident happened shortly before 10.30am this morning (Monday) on Great North Road, just outside Markham Moor.

A Notts Fire and Rescue spokesman said when a crew from Retford arrived at the scene they found the car in a field, around 30 yards from where the vehicles collided.

He added: “The driver walked away. He was very lucky. He was taken to hospital just as a precaution.”
