Mablethorpe and Sutton Town Council Mayor, Councillor Joyce Taylor, was delighted upon receiving the news. She said: “ We are pleased that the town councils’ commitment to excellence in governance and community leadership has been recognised both locally and nationally.

Councillors and staff have worked hard to achieve this accolade and we are thrilled to be able to celebrate this award.”

Town Clerk, Steve Fletcher, said: “It is fantastic to be the first council in Lincolnshire to achieve this award, following the council’s previous success in attaining the Quality Award in January 2016. It is testament to the excellent work of both councillors (past and present) and the dedication of officers.”

In terms of the future, the town council is now reviewing ways in which it can keep improving its offer to the community and welcomes any input.
