Mablethorpe woman named as Songs of Praise Christmas Card Competition winner
The competition was launched earlier this year by the BBC One’s flagship religious programme Songs of Praise to find ten winning designs that will be sold to raise money for this worthy cause.
The competition invited amateur artists to dig out their pencils and paintbrushes, and create artwork that would capture the spirit of Christmas whilst artistically reflecting what Christmas means to them.

One of the ten winning entries was created by Tina Kelham, who lives in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire.
Tina’s design was a one colour image of a mother and baby, representing Mary and Jesus and was created with just a pen.
Tina was shocked to hear she had won and said: “Since being a child I’ve always enjoyed creating things, so when I heard about the competition I thought that it would be a great thing for me to enter as I’m always scribbling down ideas and drawing.

“I created my artwork so that it would convey the simple representation of love for mothers and families everywhere. I hope that the pack of Christmas Cards raises lots of money for BBC Children in Need.”
The final ten winning designs were chosen by a panel of judges and will form a pack of Christmas cards which will be sold in aid of BBC Children in Need over the festive season.
The judging panel was made up of actress and accomplished water-colourist Una Stubbs, who stars in BBC One’s Sherlock, the BBC’s Arts Editor, Will Gompertz, and Songs of Praise’s very own presenter and art enthusiast, Josie d’Arby.
