Made in Sleaford this week

Free to visit and open to the public on both days between 10am and 4pm, Made in Sleaford gives residents the chance to find out what’s made right on their doorstep, celebrating the town’s rich manufacturing past, present and future.

On the Friday around 300 school children are expected to attend the event taking part in specially-designed STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) workshops with local businesses including SHD Composites, Sleaford Quality Foods and Moy Park.

Also included in the family-friendly event is the chance to see historic vehicles and agricultural machinery, make pizzas, enjoy an interactive tapestry, and find out all about the amazing range of products created, designed and manufactured in the town.

A visual timeline charting Sleaford’s manufacturing heritage has been put together especially for the event.

As part of the Big Draw campaign, visitors can grab a sketchbook and help create a giant tapestry that depicts the industrial and contemporary heritage of the town. Visitors can also create their own sketched print to take home.

Local companies will be able to promote themselves to potential customers and suppliers and attract potential employees.
