Lincolnshire County Council says the road - one of the busiest in the area - has reached the end of its working life and is in need of full resurfacing to ensure it remains in good condition for the future.

To reduce disruption for drivers, the works will be overnight from Monday to Friday (8pm-6am).

During those times, there will be a temporary road closure between Bishop Norton road and the A1103 Top Road. No works will take place on Friday, 26 August prior to the Bank Holiday.

Steve Brooks, senior project leader (major schemes) at the County Council, said, “”During the works, the road will be closed overnight to traffic and diversion routes will be signed via the A631 west, the A15 south, A46 Lincoln bypass, A46 north, A631 east and vice versa.

“We will ensure that local access will be available to residents and businesses within the area of the works, but there may be some disruption while construction is underway. We would appreciate your co-operation while this restriction is in place.”
