Maltby man charged with affray over police officer assault

A MALTBY man is among three men who have been charged following the assault on a 34-year-old-police officer in Rotherham on Monday 12th November.

Darryl Kent, 27, of Adelaide Street, appeared with Michael Dolan, 49, and Lewis Kent, 23, at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 14th November.

Michael Dolan, of Rotherham, was charged with section 18 assault and possession of a firearm and has been remanded in custody. He will appear at Sheffield Crown Court next week.

Darryl Kent and Lewis Kent, of Rotherham, have been charged with affray and released on court bail until next week.

The police officer was assaulted after trying to split up a fight at the Mail Coach Public House, on Wellgate, Rotherham earlier this month.

He received a number of cuts to his head and is now recovering at home with his family.
