Maltby pupils raise hundreds for charities

KIND-Hearted pupils at Maltby Academy have raised hundreds of pounds for charity.

Each of the four houses at the school chose a charity which they would like to support at the beginning of the year.

Since then variety events have been organised in and around the school, from the charity walk to fundraising events.

Last week representatives from each of the chosen charities - Bluebell Wood Hospice, Help for Heroes, Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Rotherham Hospice - came into the academy and students presented them with the cheques.

Assistant principal Jan Maxted praised the pupils for all their hard work and fundraising.

“The students have done an amazing job raising lots of money that these charities will really benefit from,” said Mrs Maxted.

“It is also nice for the charities to be coming into the academy to recognise the efforts of the students.”
